A tree planted for each Air Mauritius take-off

Rogers is one of the founders of the national carrier and remains one of its shareholders. Amongst other things, the airline’s social responsibility programme focuses on environmental conservation and, in partnership with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, Air Mauritius has implemented a “One take-off one tree” programme through which a tree is planted for each departure of one of its flights from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. This has led to 6 000 trees being planted each year and contributes, along with other environmental activities, to offsetting Air Mauritius’ carbon footprint.
