Towards the end of 2012, Villas Valriche, a resort estate development at the Domaine de Bel Ombre, celebrated an impressive milestone – 125 villa sales. To date, it leads the way as the most successful IRS project in Mauritius, in terms of both the number of villas constructed and sold.

By the summer of 2012, the Villas Valriche estate had already sold 120 villas, a figure that had risen to 125 by the end of the year. As well as being the Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS) that has constructed and sold the highest number of villas on the island, sales have continued at an impressive rate and currently there are a further dozen purchasers preparing to exchange contracts, exceeding sales targets for the first time in several years.
The Board policy of investing further in the estate’s infrastructure and facilities has been vindicated by the strong interest shown by overseas buyers. It also demonstrates Villas Valriche’s particular appeal in the face of considerable competition from numerous tropical locations around the globe.
As Villas Valriche CEO, Anton de Waal, has observed, “This is a remarkable achievement when one considers that only a handful of years ago this vast site was an expanse of sugarcane fields that has now been transformed into a stunning international award-winning resort.”
World-class standards
The beautiful and luxuriant landscape has been the subject of a great deal of attention and loving care over the past three years. The grounds have been considerably embellished and are now well-established. “Visitors and buyers never fail to be impressed by the natural beauty and the abundance of open spaces we have created here.”
Over the past few months, much of the Board’s focus has been on providing residents and guests with superb levels of service. A dedicated management team has been put in place and Anton is fully confident in their ability to deliver the highest standards of service.
So how has buyer interest been maintained? “Excellent quality, well-designed villas individually finished to very high specifications, with spectacular views overlooking one of the island’s top golf courses and finest coastlines,” comments Sales Director Timo Geldenhuys. “The five-star amenities at our partner hotels and the superb C Beach Club, all open to our residents, add to the estate’s attraction. In recent months, Villas Valriche has continued to attract recognition from within the industry.The project landed the Best Development Marketing award at the prestigious International Property Awards for Africa and was finalist in the Marketing Excellence Awards of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2012. Other international accolades have included the awards for Best Golf Development and Best Residential Development at the International Property Awards for Africa in 2009. The estate was also ranked among the Top 10 Best Luxury Developments in the World in Homes Overseas Magazine in 2009.
