48 hours to clean up the most polluted river in Bali

Since 2020, the NGO Sungai Watch has been focused on eradicating plastic pollution in Indonesian rivers. In 2023, it posted a call for volunteers on social media and announced its new mission: to clean up the most polluted river in Bali in 48 hours. The video went viral, and the mayor of Bali’s capital sent men and equipment to help. The result? More than 15 tonnes of debris were collected, showcasing a beautiful example of collaboration between citizens, nonprofits, and the public sector!
