Colin & Margaret Robinson: “The perfect place for a family holiday”

A holiday at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort is now a family tradition for the Robinson family. This South African family visited the hotel for the fourth time this year and do not seem to tire of spending time there

“A few years back, our tour company in South Africa recommended that we try Le Telfair. We came here and instantly fell in love with the place,” says Colin Robinson, an accountant by training, who runs Ultra Liquors, a liquor distribution company with 29 stores in South Africa. “The warm welcome you receive is fantastic,” adds his wife, Margaret, who is now a counsellor after a career in teaching.

In previous years, they have stayed three times around the same time of year, at the end of August-early September, at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort. They couldn’t make it last year but they were back this year in April-May with their family for what is also the couple’s seventh visit to Mauritius. “Le Telfair is the right place for a family holiday,” says Colin. “They offer great family packages.”

The needs of each member of the Robinson family are catered for at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort – Colin and Margaret came along with their two sons, daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. “The boys can enjoy water sports like windsurfing and water-skiing and they spend hours in the pool. The girls like to relax and enjoy some peaceful time reading.” As all the family members do not live in the same city, this holiday was the perfect opportunity for spending quality time together.

The hotel also provided them with rooms right by the beach to make things easier and comfortable for their handicapped daughter-in-law. “They don’t stop caring for all your needs and wants,” says Colin.

Margaret particularly enjoys this relaxing break: “The service is very accommodating and, when I come here, I don’t have to think about cooking or shopping for food. I love shopping but not for food. I’ve always loved to go to the local handicraft markets in Mauritius and I particularly love the embroidery that you find in the shops.”

“The main thing is to come here and relax and let time go by,” says Colin. He also enjoys playing golf with his sons on the beautiful 18-hole championship course of the Heritage Golf Club.

They believe that the hotel should be congratulated for the quality of the welcome and service offered to guests. “You are treated like royalty from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The service is wonderful and everybody greets you, which is really great,” says Colin.

They will be back at Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort next year for another great family holiday!
